We often speak of services and information that your mover needs to provide you with, and for a good reason. But, for a move to be successful, the communication needs to work both ways and there are definitely things that fall under the customer’s responsibility.
In this Alpha Moving and Storage blog post, we will take a look at some essential information you must provide your mover with in order to experience a successful relocation.
Inventories and Inventory Updates
It goes without saying that you need to provide your mover with a precise inventory list. That being said, many customers make the mistake of not updating their mover about inventory changes.
Let’s say, for example, that you are about to perform a long distance move. Removing a single item, such as a sofa, will definitely change the weight or volume of your shipment. Failing to report such a change to your movers may result in price fluctuations.
Pick Up and Delivery Information
When it comes to moving, every little detail about your pick up and destination location might influence the moving conditions and even the moving price. Provide your mover with all the relevant information regarding access, flights of stairs, elevators and elevator restrictions, gated community details, certificates of insurance and so forth.
Be as detailed as possible. Sometimes, details that seem of little or no importance to you may prove to have a crucial importance for the movers.
