This is the second article containing tips and advice for packing your kitchen. For more advice, please check our previous Alpha Moving and Storage blog post. In this article, we will take a look at how to pack specific kitchen items such as dinnerware, silverware, pots and pans.
Packing your Pots and Pans
Pots and pans come in various shapes and sizes, so you will need to find the right size of boxes to fit them all. Begin by looking for boxes that would fit your largest pots and pans. Dish packs are boxes that are specifically intended for the packing of boxes and should fit almost any size of pots and pans. You can order dish packs in advance from Alpha Moving and Storage. Call your relocation consultant if you would like to check the option of receiving a box-delivery.
Packing Dinnerware and Silverware
After finding the right size of box, begin the packing process by placing a double layer bubble wrap on the bottom of the box. Each piece should carefully wrapped with packing paper. When packing dinnerware, be sure to stack each piece, one at a time, then add some extra paper or bubble wrap between every two or three dishes. Don’t rush it. The more time you take to carefully wrap and pack your dinnerware, the more you reduce the chance of breakage.
Silverware should be sorted according to type and should be packed in small boxes of their own, so as not to damage other items. The best way to go is to use small boxes, or even shoe boxes. Use wrapping paper and tie different types of silverware together by using a rubber band or some string.
