The Difference between Blanket Wrapping and Packing
Alpha Moving and Storage provides blanket wrapping services for local moves, free of charge. Blanket wrapping is done for non-breakable items of furniture such as sofas and tables without glass or marble surfaces. The blankets are wrapped around the item of furniture, then are taped on the outer blanket side, so the item will be hermetically sealed.
Blanket wrapping is not used for breakable items, electronic equipment, tables with glass or marble tops and other such similar items. Such items are placed in specially designed boxes.
In some cases, mostly when glass and electronic equipment are involved, the items will be bubble wrapped before placed into the boxes. Shrink wrap is also used when necessary, as well as white paper for dishes, glasses and similar breakable items.
How Most Movers Charge for Packing and Packing Labor
Movers have set fees for their packing materials, such as boxes and bubble wrap. When custom-built wooden crates are needed, the movers will provide a price for the building of the crate in advance. Most movers will also charge for the labor of packing, the amount of time the movers will spend in packing your delicate items and furniture.
