Most of our professionals had these two tips to offer customers who wanted to lower the costs of their move: do as much of the packing as possible on your own and start tour moving preparations early.
Ask your relocation service provider to deliver boxes to your house. Packing items such as books, files and other non-breakables on your own, can significantly reduce your packing costs.
Starting early will allow you to do some of the packing on your own and get rid of excess inventory to further reduce your moving costs.
Time Saving Tips
To save time, try and disassemble some of the items, such as tables with removable legs and so on. Place boxes that you had packed on your own in one place, preferably as close to the house entrance as possible. Finally, try and reserve a nearby parking spot for the moving truck to make the pick up quicker and easier.
Tips for Selecting your Moving Service Provider
Never take the mover’s word for it. It is your responsibility to check each moving service provider’s reputation. Check the validity of license numbers. Go to the Better Business Bureau’s website and make sure the mover is an active member. Also, check if the mover has been successfully able to resolve past complaints.
