Making Sure you are dealing with a Local New Jersey Company
The first thing you should do in order to make sure you are dealing with an actual, local New Jersey company is to ask for the physical address. Make sure the address you receive is not a post office box, or a self-storage facility. A respectable, local company will allow you to visit its local headquarters, offices and storage facility. Once you have established the fact that you are dealing with an actual local company, check its reputation by visiting the Better Business Bureau website, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration website and asking for references.
