Alpha Moving offers storage services for both local and long distance moves. We offer both short and long term storage, which means you can store your shipments for days, months, or even years. Let’s take a look at how you should prepare your shipment for storage, how moving in and out of storage works and how the storage charges are calculated.
Getting Everything Ready for Moving into Storage
It doesn’t matter if you’ll be moving your goods into storage for a few weeks or a few months, your shipment must be properly packed, boxes, crated, wrapped and protected. Bear in mind that moves involving storage will require several stages of handling: packing and preparing the shipment, loading the goods onto the truck, offloading the goods at the Alpha Moving storage facility. Moving out of storage will involve pretty much the same stages, starting from loading at the storage facility and ending with offloading at the destination.
This is why we highly recommend utilizing our full service packing when moving in and out of storage. This will help you to avoid damages and allow you to purchase additional insurance coverage.
Storage and Relocation Costs
The storage costs are calculated according to the amount of space your goods will take at the Alpha Moving storage facility. After determining the size of your shipment, you will be given a monthly charge per storage. There is no limit on the amount of time you can spend in storage. You will receive a monthly storage invoice.
For local moves, the hourly charges will apply both for the move into storage and the move out of storage. For long distance moves, you will be required to let the Alpha Moving team know about the first date in which you will be ready to receive your goods at the destination location.
