This is the third and final part of our Alpha Moving and Storage guide for unpacking. In the previous posts, we took a look at how to label your boxes in a way that will make the unpacking process easier. Also, we discussed unpacking boxes for specific rooms in the house, such as the kitchen and bathroom. In this post, we’ll discuss the unpacking of boxes belonging to the living room and bedroom.
Unpacking your Living Room Boxes
As mentioned in our previous unpacking articles, after you unpack the essential kitchen and bathroom boxes, the remaining process of unpacking can continue at a more comfortable pace. You can use a floor plan of the house, or even simple drawings, in order to plan the placement of furniture. This can also help you with the unpacking, as you will know where to place the content of each box. When labeling the boxes, try to divide them according to shelves, cabinets and boxes they need to go to. This will help you distribute the boxes and to unpack them quickly.
The same can be said about packing book boxes for your library. Try to maintain some sort of order – paperbacks, art books and so forth. This will help you in unpacking books to your library shelves.
Unpacking your Bedroom
Remember to pack separate boxes of bedroom essentials. Pillows, sheets, pillow cases, blankets, these are all things that you will need on your very first night in your new house. Use the ABC system of labeling boxes according to the urgency of their unpacking (described in the first part of this article series).
As you can see, unpacking can take place in a quick and efficient way, if you do the packing in a careful and well-organized way. Our Alpha Moving and Storage relocation consultants will be happy to provide you with further information and tips about packing and unpacking. Thank you for reading.
